28.04.04 :: gurl, interrupted

while driving home tonight from work, i couldn't help but notice other drivers' faces when passing through the various intersections. some were indifferent, some anxious, some angry. i can honestly tell you that i saw no one -- and i mean no one -- smiling.

is this because driving stresses people out? or are most people simply not contented with their lives? my drive home this evening then took on an entirely different mood than my usual postwork autopilot funk.

i was happy. the mind interruptions caused by these drivers' faces really made this gurl think. my life is good. i don't have big hair. i'm not that overweight. i'm employed. i'm not in jail. i'm not completely broke.

and for this, i thank them. each and every miserable one.

this is it: the christening of my blog, lonestarsteve.com. i still need some time to piddle around with some of this software, learn the ins and outs. also, the "guestbook" and "contact" links still need some work. oh, and i don't have anything under the 'about' link yet, and the only photo in the 'gallery' is a picture of my cat, bear, who is now living with my ex.

jesus, why did i launch this thing? it's not even ready yet. but i am going to try to post as often as i can and work on getting the rest of the site going little by little.

i did want to take this opportunity to thank the mastermind web designer for his great work. dustie, you're the best. i can't explain in words what this outlet means to me. i've been wanting a web site for so long, and you made it happen for me. thanks. now, how do you do alt tags again? i think i need another personal tutorial.

to those of you out there who might find this site, just be a little patient with me in the beginning, and if you check in on a regular basis, i promise that it will change your life forever.

well, that's a big lie. but it couldn't hurt to try, could it?
